ATAC

ATAC Resources Ltd (TSX VENTURE: ATC) has received the final assays on its enormously successful 2009 drill program at the Tiger Zone at its Rau Gold Project in the Yukon Territory. ATAC has a good start on what it hopes may someday be a world-class multi-million ounce gold camp, reminiscent of the Carlin Trend in Nevada. The Rau Gold Project, 100% owned by ATAC with no royalty interests, is a Nevada-type gold discovery covering 600 square kilometers, with a strike length of over 80 kilometers of favorable carbonate host rocks. At present, ATAC has completed definition drilling on less than 5% of the project’s strike length.

The Rau Gold Project is within the Tintina Gold Belt and is situated in a highly prospective geological setting below the regional-scale Dawson Thrust, which interleaves Paleozoic shales and silty carbonate rocks. Recent interpretation has identified strong similarities between the geological settings of the Rau property and the northern part of the Carlin Trend in Nevada, credited with having produced over 160 million ounces of gold.

Gold at the Rau Gold Project was discovered in June of 2008 by following up a strong government silt anomaly. ATAC completed 18 diamond drill holes totaling 3,423 meters tested beneath the core of the geochemical anomaly, resulting in discovery of sediment-hosted replacement-style gold mineralization named the Tiger Zone. Most of the holes drilled in 2008 intersected thick sections
of sulphide rich material.
