Alexco Resource U.S. Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Alexco Resource Corp. (AMEX: AXU, TSX: AXR), completed an emergency pit lake treatment environmental services contract on the 60 million gallon pit lake and saturated waste rock fill areas that had contained strongly acidic mine drainage with heavy metal concentrations. The environmental
mitigation at Barite Hill is an important milestone for Alexco, demonstrating the advantages of its effective, low cost, innovative technology over more costly traditional methods such as repeated extensive doses of lime over longer periods.
